River House Restaurant and Cafe Bar Cahir

The River House Cafe – €15.95 for a so-called “full Irish” with no beans, no mushrooms, and pudding slices so thin they could have been cut on a microtome. My daughter ordered a €4.95 peach iced tea after seeing the beautiful picture of one on the wall — lemon garnish and all — only to be handed a plain bottle of Lipton iced tea with zero garnish.

The server was lovely (if slightly embarrassed, in my opinion), but the experience overall had negative value for money. I wouldn’t recommend eating here. This place has genuine 5-star potential, but it feels like greed has taken the wheel.

food is decent, a little expensive but worth it. Staff very good, EXCEPT this old blonde lady, she is rude. Rude to customers and her own staff!!! A ginger girl around 16 was taking my food order (it was quite busy) and she was super calm and collective about how busy the restaurant was but this old blonde lady (her staff member) came and screamed at her in-front of customers for “asking if there was anymore white bread downstairs” the girl handled it well and shook it off her shoulder and continued to to serve. Other than that old lady. The place is amazing!!!

Could be really good - greeted by a very friendly staff member when we entered initially. Food was not good €15 for soup and sandwich. Could only eat the sandwich soup was like wallpaper paste. Mentioned it to 2 locals who told me they wouldn't go there only tourists get caught. Great location pity about the food.
